Onslaught

Onslaught '09
firstly onslaught started off with a dark blue night effect which could have been caused by the use of a colour filter there were no bright lights and if any lights were used at all it seems that the brightness was very low. And there was use of a smoke machine to create a fog illusion
There is soft music that has an escalating sound in the beginning to build suspense and to make the tension of the movie scene rise before the violence started, but the sound is non-diegetic because the actors and actresses cannot hear it. There are some people running away and other people running towards them with guns. So that gives the impression that the people with guns are chasing the other people. Some of the people in the scene are wearing orange jumpsuits which is what you normally see prisoners wearing so that tells us that the people in orange jumpsuits were prisoners and the people wearing white with  guns are the wardens chasing them because they escaped.
The Wardens are being recorded from a low angle which gives them a sense of power or superiority over the prisoners and it made them look taller. And the prisoners were being recorded from a higher angle which made them look small and weak compared to the wardens.
From far the jumpsuits looked red which is usually a signal for danger which shows that the prisoners were meant to be dangerous. While the wardens were wearing white which is normally a sign of peace. But in the scene, the wardens were more dangerous as they were with the ones with the guns.
Sychronised sound is being used when the prisoners are being shot because the sound is inputed while the scene was being edited But the gunshots were diegetic sounds. Props were used in this scene as: prisoner jumpsuits, guns and fake blood. And get to see what the gunners are seeing as they aim to shoot the runaway prisoners.
